The mentorship programme is an initiative by the alumni group within the Electric and Electronic Engineering chapter at KTH, colloquially known as the Electro chapter. The purpose of the programme is to foster connection between alumni and current students of the 5-year electric and electronic engineering degree. Through the programme you will be given the opportunity to inspire the next generation of students, share your experiences and contribute to the students academic and professional growth.
What does it mean to be a mentor?
As a mentor you will be able to share your academic and/or professional experiences with a current student within the Electro chapter at KTH, with the main purpose being to support them through the next steps of their career using your experiences. You are throughout the programme expected to participate in programme related events and individual meetings with your mentee.
Who can become a mentor?
- You can apply to become a mentor in the mentorship programme if you:
- Work within the electric and electronics field, alternatively if you studied Electric and Electronic Engineering at KTH
- Have at least three years of professional experience (including in fields outside of electric engineering)
- Are able to attend events and meetings regarding the mentorship programme (totalling five over the span of the year, several of which with flexible dates).
How does it work?
- Fill in the application form. Provide a brief introduction and list potential preferences regarding a mentee (for instance areas of interest)
- In October you will receive three suggested mentees based on your preferences. You will then rank them based on your personal preference.
- When you have been paired with your mentee you will receive each other’s contact details and you may start planning your future meetings.
- The programme starts off with an evening of mingle and dinner in the Elektro chapter hall tolvan on the 24th of November.
Important dates:
