SvenskaThe mentorship programme is an initiative of the alumni group at the chapter for electrical engineering at KTH. The programme strives to create connections between alumni and current students. You will be given an opportunity to share experiences, be inspired, and most importantly, the chance to have a lot of fun!
What does it mean to be a mentee?
As a mentee you will come in direct contact with an alumni in the workforce. Your mentor may share with you their experiences from their studies, professional life and life after graduation. In meetings spread across the academic year you will be given valuable advice regarding studies, career paths and opportunities for the future.
Who can become a mentee?
You may apply for the programme if you are :
- In year 2-5 in your studies or studying a masters within electrical engineering
- Willing to invest time in the programme by attending the mandatory meetings with your mentor (consisting of five per year, several with flexible dates)
How to join the programme?
- Fill in the application form. Briefly introduce yourself and outline why you would like to become a mentee.
- The alumni group will pair you with a mentor based on your ambitions, background and interests.
- After you have been paired with a mentor you will be given their contact details and you can start planning your first meeting.
- The programme starts off with an evening of mingling and dinner in the Elektro chapter hall tolvan on the 24th of November.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee all applicants will be provided a mentor.
Important dates:
7th October: Deadline for application.
24th November: Mingling and dinner in our chapter hall tolvan. The first meeting between mentors and mentees in a relaxed setting with delicious food and good vibes.
Around the 3rd of December: First meeting with your mentor one-on-one. As needed, a more suitable date can be chosen by mentee and mentor.
~ 4th February: Second one-on-one with your mentor. Preliminary date.
~ 20th May: Third one-on-one. Preliminary date.
6th of June (Optional): Farewell and banquet with mentors. An appreciation dinner according to traditional student customs, in other words a ‘sittning’. An opportunity to experience a part of student life with mentors and mentees. Further information will be provided closer to the event.
