How to: Write a motion, BU and DU

If you as a chapter member that wants to influence the chapter’s activities in a larger way or ask for money for an event/project, there are different ways to do it.

Motion: For major changes in the section and decisions of more than 10 000 SEK, a motion is required. Motions are discussed and voted on at chapter meetings (SM). Motions must be sent to the board before the motion deadline and the board will come up with an answer and a proposal for a decision which they will present during the SM.

Discussion (DU) and decision documents (BU): To deal with minor issues and sums up to 10 000 SEK, you can write a discussion or decision document. These documents will be taken up at a StÖT, Board Discussion Meeting, which takes place approximately once a month. You can submit a document at any time and the board will process it within three weeks. The document must be sent to the chairman’s email, eordf@e.kth.se and taken up at a StÖT as long as it is sent in at least 2 days before the meeting.

ATTENTION! IF THERE IS ANY UNCLEARITY OR IF YOU WANT HELP WITH THE PROCESS YOU CAN ALWAYS ASK THE BOARD FOR HELP
